Our mission

YOWOH connects you with the world around you — in real-time, with privacy at the core. We believe proximity is the most natural way to discover people, places and events. No algorithms pushing content. No data harvesting. Just genuine, location-aware connections.

Privacy first

Your location is shared only when you choose to go online. You control who sees you, when they see you, and for how long. All proximity data is ephemeral — it disappears when you go offline. We never sell, share, or monetise your personal data.

What we stand for

Four principles that guide every product decision we make.

Privacy by default

No location shared without explicit consent, ever.

Ephemeral by design

Presence disappears when you go offline. No permanent trails.

Human-first

No algorithmic feeds. No dark patterns. Real connections only.

Transparent

Open changelogs, open roadmaps, and a public privacy dashboard.

How it works

Three steps. Nothing hidden, nothing tracked.

01

Go online

Toggle your visibility on. Your position is shared with the people you choose — nobody else.

02

Discover nearby

See friends, events and communities around you in real-time. Join circles, RSVP to events, message directly.

03

Vanish any time

Go offline and your presence disappears. No history, no trails, no surprises.

Our story so far

From a whiteboard sketch to a global proximity network.

2024
The idea

Frustrated by algorithm-driven social apps, we sketched the first YOWOH concept on a whiteboard.

2025
Private beta

Launched in Kochi with 100 testers. Live map, circles, proximity alerts — all working.

2025
Public launch

Opened the doors in India. Crossed 10,000 members within four months.

2026
Going global

Expanding to EU and US markets with region-localised data residency.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to the questions we hear most.

Is YOWOH free?
Yes. The core product — live proximity map, circles, messaging, and alerts — is free forever. A YOWOH+ tier with advanced privacy features launches in 2026.
Do you sell my location data?
No. Never have, never will. We do not run ads, and we do not share your location with third parties for any commercial purpose.
Where is my data stored?
Currently in India. EU users will be routed to Frankfurt and US users to Virginia starting Q2 2026, with full data-residency guarantees.
Can I delete my account?
Yes, from Settings → Account. All associated data is deleted within 30 days. You can also request a full data export before deleting.
How precise is the location you store?
You choose. "Exact" mode stores GPS coordinates; "Fuzzy" mode applies a 150–300 m jitter; "Ghost" mode stores nothing.
Does YOWOH work without an internet connection?
The map loads tiles lazily and caches them, so a recent map view will work offline. Live updates require connectivity.
